International Conference ‘Vastu Panorama 2000’ was inaugurated on 11lh February, 2000 at 11.00 am by His Excellency Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Bhai Mahavir at Mahal, Hotel Sayaji, Indore, amidst an august gathering of distinguished personalities and delegates from all over the country, International experts of various fields, Architects and Engineers from the city and media persons. This special morning of 11th February, 2000 was specially marked by pleasant weather and cool breeze ‘basant bahaar’ creating a perfect Vastu environment.
The function was presided over by Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Union Minister of State, HRD, Govt of India. Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Mayor, Indore City, Dr Bharat Chhaparwal, Vice Chancellor, DAW, Indore and Mr Richard Creightmore, Geo-biologist from UK were the special guests at the occasion.
The conference venue – Mahal, Sayaji was fully occupied before the Governor’s arrival. The programme began with the National Anthem by police band followed by Vedic Mantra recital and Saraswati Vandana by Dr M.K.Ozha and his team. Prof H.S. Mehta, Vice-Chairman, Organising Committee welcomed the guests and delegates. Er V.K.Agrawal, Chairman Organising Committee(VP 2000), Dr V.K. Naneria, Er Pankaj Agrawal, Dr Abhay Gupta, Dr V.P.Bansal and Dr M.K.Ozha gave floral welcome to the honourable guests on the dias.
Er Pankaj Agrawal, Chairman, IVVRF and Organising Secretary-VP 2000 informed about the activities of IVVRF, advocated the need of formation of a The Institution of Vastu Sciences (India) and presented the background of the conference with brief details of conference schedule.

The conference was formally inaugurated b,y lighting of lamp by H.H. Dr. Bhai Mahavir, Hon. Minister of state Smt Sumitra Mahajan, the Mayor and the Vice Chancellor DAW. Ar Juhee Gupta and Ms. Divya Agrawal assisted in the ceremony.

Chairman of Organising Committee, Er V.K.Agrawal delivered the key note address in order to introduce the theme of the conference. He said that in the new millennium we are moving with high hopes. He explained ‘Vastu’ in context with welfare and scientific base. He stated motto of the conference and assured that delegates will benefit from the conference.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Kailash Vijayvargiy, Mayor, Indore City said that the study of old temples and ancient palaces can help a lot in the study of Vastu. Our ‘Yog’ is learnt in Western countries and sent back as ‘Yoga’ to our country and is more popular.

HRD Minister for State, Smt Sumitra Mahajan, presiding over the function, said that since ancient times ‘Vastu Purush’ is always included in our life-style. She quoted several examples of such designs. In Indian culture. She said, house is a Hving thing together with the habitats living there in. We always make homes and not houses.

H.H. Dr Bhai Mahavir, Chief Guest of the function, blessed the organisers by appreciating their efforts to host such an event in Indore. He said that Vastu Shastra in ‘Hindustan’ is about 5000 years old and was a part of culture, worship and prayers. It has both positive as well as negative aspects. There are incidents in history when the negative aspect leads to big battles like Mahabharata. He said that this science should be used for the betterment of environment, upgradation of life style of mankind and increase in efficiency of human beings on all fronts.
Ar Richard Creightmore of UK released a conference magazine specially prepared for the occasion, containing research papers and case study articles on the subject. Er R.S. Goyal and Er Vishwas Guru presented the copy of the magazine to all the guests.For the benefit of general public and delegates a technical exhibition of Vastu related literature, equipments used in Vastu

Kirlian camera and eco-friendly building material were exhibited in the Vastu Lab at the conference venue. Dr Bharat Chhaparwal, Vice Chancellor, DAW, who inaugurated the Vastu Lab, expected that this will help a lot in clearing the doubts in mind of common man about Vastu. Chief guest Dr Bhai Mahavir also went round the exhibition and appreciated efforts. Er Tushar Khandelwal, Ar. Juhee Gupta took great pains in setting the Vastu lab.
Shri Surendra Sanghvi, noted Industrialist from Indore, was honored on the occasion by Smt Sumitra Mahajan for his continuous encouragement and support in organizing International conference `Vastu Panorama 2000′ Members of organizing committee presented mementos to guests of honor.
Dr V.K.Naneria, Vice Chairman – VP 2000, presented vote of thanks. Ms Preeti Trisal conducted the programmed excellently. The inaugural function ended with the national anthem.
